Provenance
Estate of Albert T Quon, Beverly Hills, California. Mr. Quon was born in China and came to the United States as a teenager. He graduated from University of Southern California in 1928 and established a successful import/export business in both, China and the US. He was the first Chinese-American to purchase property in Beverly Hills. Additionally, he was the first Asian person admitted to the Los Angeles Rotary Club, and the first Asian to serve on the Board of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. He donated millions of dollars to his alma mater, USC. There is a statue of him on USC campus and a classroom dedicated to his namesake.
