The second day of Oakridge Auction Gallery’s Summer Chinese Art and Antiques sale highlights our impressive assemblage of jade, lacquer, bronze, silver, and other precious materials. This collection emphasizes the incredible craftsmanship demonstrated by Chinese artists throughout the centuries, focusing on innovative techniques in carving, enamel application, metallurgy, and lacquer production. The session begins with a collection of rare jade archer’s rings collected by Joan and Ted Dorf of Maryland. Other highlights include a pair of well-carved cinnabar jardinieres with crafted jade flowers, a large white jade statue of Shou, and an intricate pair of cloisonne vases with ‘taotie’ motifs.
